Money only has value when it is scarce

Money only has value when it is scarce. Whether money is hoarded by the Church, by Elon Musk, by the Mafia or whoever, the objective of hoarding it is to control its value so that you can control the people who have less. Paying everyone more does not resolve this.  The money should be hoarded by the State, and then spent in the interests of the people of that State, with nobody having a veto by way of out bidding decision making. Ultimately, the question is not,  'who has the money', the question is, 'who has control'. If Everyone Is King Then No One Is; Caitlin Johnstone "The ruling class continually extracts wealth from the public not so that they can become wealthier than they already are, but to keep the public from having that wealth."

Between Poverty and Wealth is Simplicity

I wouldn't object to people being very wealthy if we still had good public spaces, good public infrastructure, good public services and all the other things we used to have that made being poor not only bearable, but in way almost joyful in its simplicity.  But the wealthy people have been chipping away at society since Thatcher declared there was no such thing, squeezing everyone who wasn't wealthy into a precarious or wretched existence so that they can have more and more. Everything that used to be ours we now have to pay to use. I don't begrudge people having wealth but I do begrudge them taking away my simple life to get it.
